The Chris Treiber Memorial Fund for Family Advocacy was established in tribute to the life and legacy of Chris Treiber, AHRC NYC’s first Vice President of Advocacy. The Fund will help parents and siblings of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities attend educational, leadership-development, and advocacy events, meetings, and conferences. By helping remove financial barriers to participation, the Fund will give families greater opportunities to make their voices heard and strengthen their advocacy skills.
It was Chris’s hope that this fund would help cultivate the next generation of family advocacy leaders and carry forward his commitment to empowering families.
Parents are and have always been the most important advocates for their children. I have had the profound honor of working alongside many selfless, powerful parents. This fund recognizes that importance.
-Chris Treiber
